Description: | We are searching for interns who wish to have an educational experience at a bustling NYC literary agency. The positions are in person, in our midtown office.
This experience includes: learning about the submission process to editors, discussions of the latest developments in industry trends, gaining an understanding of different royalty reports, and guidance on furthering a career in publishing. Interns will also learn about foreign rights, contracts, publicity and the use of social media in publishing. Interns will assist with the reading and evaluation of queries and manuscripts and help with general administrative tasks which are designed to better understand the workings of a literary agency. For one of the intern positions, we are seeking an intern who already experienced an entry level publishing internship and is interested in learning more about foreign rights. This intern will assist with book fair rights guide preparation and book fair scheduling, as well as other administrative tasks as needed. InkWell has a successful track record helping interns find paid publishing positions throughout the industry. Company Description InkWell Management was formed in 2004 through the merger of Arthur Pine Associates, Inc., Carlisle & Company and Witherspoon Associates. InkWell works closely with its clients and their publishers to develop effective promotional campaigns, garnering maximum attention and respect within the industry and with the reading public. Length of Internship: | January to May 2025 |
Requirements: | Candidates should be articulate with a high level of interest in the publishing field. Candidates should also be motivated, highly organized, with strong time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. The schedule is ideally Mon/Tues/Wed from 10 am to 4 pm. Please indicate your schedule availability in your cover letter. |
